At Air America Flight Center, our mission is to provide customer-friendly, low-cost, high-efficiency aircraft rental opportunities and aviation solutions to both personal and corporate consumers.

Our Principles

Guided by integrity, driven by innovative solutions, delivering exceptional performance, and committed to continuous growth, Air America Flight Center sets the standard for excellence in aviation services. Established on June 23, 2004, in DeLand, Florida, Air America Flight Center is a woman-owned Limited Liability Company (LLC) built on the pillars of integrity, innovation, performance, and growth.

Early Operations

From modest beginnings with a fleet of five single-engine aircraft, including two Cessna 152s, one 1980 Cessna 172P, and two new Cessna 172SPs, our focus was on aircraft rental, leasing, sales, and flight instruction.

Accreditation and Growth

In just four months, we achieved accreditation as a Cessna Pilot Center, a testament to our dedication to excellence. Relocating to Daytona Beach International Airport in the Fall of 2004 strategically positioned us to serve Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University students effectively.

Diversification and Expansion

Expanding our services, we aided in the development of training materials for technically advanced aircraft (TAA) in partnership with Embry-Riddle. Our fleet has since grown to over 60 aircraft, including G1000-equipped models, offering advanced training opportunities to local customers at competitive rates.

Innovation in Imaging Services

Recognizing emerging needs, we ventured into imaging platforms in 2005, providing aerial imaging services across North America and the Caribbean. Our commitment to quality and flexibility has enabled us to serve clients ranging from small-scale projects to large, recurring contracts.

Continued Success

Today, we lease aircraft directly to pilots and flight schools, provide imaging services to professionals and corporations, and offer low-time pilots opportunities to build flight hours through instruction and aerial support nationwide.

Meet The Team

Sean Freeman

Sean Freeman has been the Assistant Chief Flight Instructor at Air America Flight Center since 2008 and was named Chief Flight Instructor in 2012. A graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a BS in Aeronautical Science, Sean began instructing here full-time after graduating in 2006. Since then, he has given over 5,000 hours of flight instruction to a countless number of students ranging from private to ATP. With so much experience and a high student pass rate, Sean is a true resource to both the students and the entire staff of Air America Flight Center flight instructors.

Andrew Vipond has been an instructor at Air America Flight Center since 2010, and was named the Assistant Chief Flight Instructor in 2012. He is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a BS in Aeronautical Science. He accomplished much of his flight training at the university before becoming a flight instructor at Air America Flight Center in 2010. His passion for a fun and personal training experience makes him a valued member of the instructor team.

Steve Zimmer has been the Director of Maintenance at Air America Flight Center since 2005. A 2001 graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Steve is the Director of operations at AOG MX, LLC. AOG MX is responsible for maintaining the entire fleet of Air America Flight Center airplanes and ensuring that they are in perfect airworthy condition.

Maddox CFI

Maddox Weaver

Maddox Weaver began working at Air America in 2022 as a part of the dispatch staff. He received his CFI/I in August of 2023 and began working as a flight instructor at Air America. While flight instructing he attended Florida State University and graduated with a BS in Economics and a Minor in Political Science. He has since received his MEI and became the Assistant Chief Flight Instructor in 2024. Currently as a CFI/CFII/MEI, Maddox aspires to become a gold seal instructor who crafts knowledgeable and safe pilots, while creating long lasting relationships with his students, fellow instructors and all those who are interested in aviation.

Jacklyn Booth

Jacklyn Booth joined Air America Flight Center in 2020 and became our Aviation Services Manager in December 2022. She is a graduate of Cornell University with a BS in Animal Science and a minor in Business. Even with a different educational background, Jacklyn’s roots run deep in aviation, leading her toward helping people obtain their flight training goals.
